The Restaurant originally started 1970 on Amsterdam Avenue,
between 125th & 126th Streets. Jimbo's has now branched out to
other locations in Harlem and even to The Bronx. Most Harlemites
remember a small restaurant with seven stools at the counter and
two tables with chairs in the back - with a reputation of having
a great Burger that followed it over the years.
Which brings us to a relatively new Jimbo's
located on Lenox Avenue in the heart of Harlem; next to the
Famous "Lenox Lounge," The Bar where scenes from the movie Shaft
was filmed.
Even though the restaurant has made some
changes like bigger space, more services and some addition to
the menu, nothing has changed. It's the same Jimbo's, same good
taste. At Jimbo's they accept cash only and it is one of few
restaurants that serve breakfast at anytime. Jimbo's is open
from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
The prices are unbelievably moderate for a
family of four; Burgers, Fries, Soda, the works is under $20.00.
Looking for a quick snack or gotta quench that Burger taste, you
gotta go to Jimbo's.
